Dawnne Keeney, a Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices United Properties agent and Luxury Collection specialist, recently completed the sale of a historic New Orleans home on Esplanade Avenue. On the market for under six months, the landmark property sold for over $1.5 million.

With the exception of bathrooms and kitchens, the home featured countless original details including ceilings, medallions, mantels, mirrors and floors. The residence belonged to an icon in the New Orleans tourism industry and has even been featured in several films.

A friend of the homeowner contacted Keeney knowing the family was searching for a dedicated agent that could attend each showing and facilitate all the actions surrounding the sale of a historic property. Partnering with fellow United Properties realtor, Shaun McCarthy, Keeney devised a marketing plan to effectively showcase the space.

Keeney utilized the marketing tools provided by Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices United Properties and created a national online campaign focused on finding prospective buyers. By posting on relevant social media channels and reaching out to experts on historic New Orleans properties, she used her findings to really focus her efforts and create an engaging experience for interested prospects. Her exhaustive efforts paid off and agents continuously brought clients to tour the home.

With similar properties in the city sitting on the market for over a year before selling, Keeny’s work can not be overstated.

Keeney says, “At the end of the day, the listing and sale of these iconic properties made me realize these sellers often require a more encompassing, specialized approach. By being more than just a real estate agent and becoming a trusted adviser to the seller and family, I filled a role that has been forgotten in today’s tech-driven world.”
